I had so much fun designing my little girl, Piper's, nursery. She has a head full of red hair and a fiery personality to match it. I wanted the room to capture her personality, so I went with a white, bright backdrop and added pops of color. When planning her nursery I originally thought I would stick to a neutral palette. But when I found the pink rug from Babasouk, I completely turned my design plan around. The rug was the first item for the room I purchased and I designed the rest of the room around it, bringing in pops of blue, pink, and yellow. I decorated the floating hexagon shelves with a few mementos for a personal touch, including her ultrasound picture and sterling mug from her great grandmother. I didn't finish the room until a few months after she was born, but it was well worth the wait. It serves as her nursery and our playroom, and we have clocked many special hours reading books and singing songs in here. I know it will transition well into a toddler room, and is the perfect backdrop to watching her grow.
